NGO MANAGEMENT — STRENGTHENING CIVIL SOCIETY INSTITUTIONS

In strengthening Civil Society Institution, a 3-hour workshop facilitated by Joan Godoy, Radical Partners grounded in non-governmental institutions and how they are instrumental to a country’s democracy and engagement to civil society. However, many struggle to strengthen the institutional capacity and transparency that is critical to stability, good governance and credibility of the sector. This workshop gave 10 International Visitors from the Dominican Republic new insights and research-based skills that can dramatically improve: accountability towards their stakeholders, strategic planning, use of social media, and new technologies to promote civic engagement.

During the workshop, Joan Godoy introduced the Nurture Grid. As the name implies, the Nurture Grid is meant to educate and nurture partnerships/relationships. More organically sincere than a marketing strategy, the Nurture Grid is still a form of retention, but often convey the value/sincerity of your NGO or teach partners about the ideas that they’ve signaled an interest in. The Nurture Grid is a great tool for shepherding partners through the relational process until they’re ready and comfortable making an initial commitment, whether it is time, talent, or treasure.
